BOBBY "THE POLISH PRINCE" VINTON
B/w publicity photo from the Bobby Vinton Blue Velvet Theatre of singer Bobby Vinton in a tuxedo. He had four chart-topping singles between 1962 and 1964.
Photograph signed "Bobby/Vinton". B/w, 7¾x10 overall, 7¼x8¼ image, one surface. Captioned: "Bobby Vinton/Branson, MO". Vinton opened the 1,600-seat Bobby Vinton Blue Velvet Theatre in Branson, Missouri in 1993, where he continues to perform. Although his sentimental ballads were more similar in style to singers of earlier decades, Vinton, born Stanley Robert Vinton in 1935, was a big hit with young listeners in the 1960s. He scored five big hits between 1962 and 1964: Roses Are Red, Blue on Blue, Blue Velvet, There, I've Said It Again and Mr. Lonely. Unlike many of his rivals, he more than survived the British invasion, with further big hits like I Love How You Love Me (1968). Vinton hosted his own TV musical variety show (1975-1978) and remains ever popular on the nightclub circuit and "oldies" radio. Lightly bowed. Lightly creased and chipped right corners. Otherwise in fine condition.
