BOBBY "THE POLISH PRINCE" VINTON
Music-themed slip of orange paper signed by singer Bobby Vinton, who
had four chart-topping singles between 1962 and 1964
Printed card signed "Bobby/Vinton" in black ink. 5¾x3¼.
Music-themed clip art printed at left edge. Although his sentimental ballads
were more similar in style to singers of earlier decades, Vinton, born
Stanley Robert Vinton in 1935, was a big hit with young listeners in the
1960s. He scored five big hits between 1962 and 1964: Roses Are Red,
Blue on Blue, Blue Velvet, There, I've Said It Again and
Mr. Lonely. Unlike many of his rivals, he more than survived the
British invasion, with further big hits like I Love How You Love Me
(1968). Vinton hosted his own TV musical variety show (1975-1978) and
remains ever popular on the nightclub circuit and "oldies" radio. Lightly
creased and bowed. Irregular right edge. Otherwise in fine
condition.
