Ray Gallagher/Nagasaki Aug. 9, 1945". B/w, 10x8. The B-29 Bocks Car dropped the second atomic bomb used in warfare on the Japanese city of Nagasaki, August 9, 1945. Captain C.D. ALBURY piloted the plane, Captain James F. VAN PELT served as navigator, and Sergeant Ray GALLAGHER was the assistant flight engineer. Jacob BESER, who had been aboard Enola Gay when it dropped the first bomb on Hiroshima (August 6) was on Bocks Car with the same duty as before, radar counter-measures officer. Ink note on verso (no show-through). Fine condition.
