Signature: "Bonar Colleano", 7x4½. Affixed to a card with unsigned printed photo. Ink notes (unknown hand) list some of his films and date the signature: "Empire Theatre Liverpool August 27 [19]55". Accompanied by an unsigned magazine photograph mounted to a card. British film star Bonar Colleano (1924-1958), born in New York City, appeared in over thirty films between 1945 and 1958. The dark haired American was found irresistible by British female audiences and he was married to English starlet Susan Shaw. He played the role of Stanley in the original London production of Streetcar Named Desire (opposite Vivien Leigh, with Laurence Olivier as director). His notable film roles include Johnny in the Clouds (1945), Eight Iron Men (1952), Joe Macbeth (1955) and The Man Inside (1958). Colleano died at the young age of 34, after crashing his sports car in Birkenhead, England. Adhesive residue on left margin. Irregularly cut. Fine condition.
