Granville". B/w, 8x10. Actress and producer Bonita Granville (1923-1988)
made her film debut in 1932 at the age of nine in Westward Passage and
four years later she was nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy
Award for her role in These Three (1936). Known for playing the
title role in four Nancy Drew films (1938-1939) and starring opposite
Mickey Rooney in two Andy Hardy outings (1944, 1946), Granville also
appeared in such films as Little Women (1933), Anne of Green
Gables (1934), Maid of Salem (1937), The People vs. Dr.
Kildare (1941), Now, Voyager (1942), Hitler's Children (1943)
and The Lone Ranger (1956). She was also a familiar face on early TV
anthologies (beginning in 1951), and Granville guest starred on several TV
series, including Lassie (1965), which she produced and directed.
Granville, who was married to producer Jack Wrather from 1947 until his
death in 1984, was also known for her involvement with a number of charities.
