COMMEMORATIVE ENVELOPE. Bonnie Jeanne Dunbar (b. 1949) is a former NASA Astronaut who served as a mission specialist on Challenger STS-61A in 1985, Columbia STS-32 in 1990 and Atlantis STS-71 in 1995, and was the payload commander on Columbia STS-50 in 1992 and Endeavour STS-89 in 1998. After retiring from NASA in 2005, she served as president and CEO of The Museum of Flight until April 2010. Dr. Dunbar is currently in charge of the new University of Houston's STEM Center and is also part of the Cullen College of Engineering.
