An album leaf featuring 5 signatures from Boston Celtics members, including Bill Russell and Sam Jones
Signatures: "Harold Sappington Texas", "K.C. Jones", "Bill Russell", "Thomas Sanders", "Sam Jones", in blue ink, 2¾x3¾. Playing his entire pro career with the Boston Celtics, BILL RUSSEL (b. 1934) was key to making the Celtics one of the great sports dynasties of all time (not to mention winners of 11 NBA championships in 13 years between 1956 and 1969). He became the first Black NBA (and major U. S. sport) head coach in 1966 and was enshrined in the Hall of Fame in 1975. In 1980, the Basketball Writers' Association of America named him the greatest NBA player of all time. SAM JONES (b. 1933) played his entire NBA career with the Celtics (1957-1969), making 5 All-Star teams and winning 10 championships. The clutch-shooting guard scored over 15,000 career points, and was the team's leading scorer in four seasons. He entered the Hall of Fame with Havlicek in 1984. Forward TOM "SATCH" SANDERS (b. 1938), who won 8 titles with the Celtics between 1961 and 1969, was a consistent shooter and rebounder who entered the Hall of Fame in 2011. After his playing days, Sanders - always a mentor to young players - was the chief architect of the NBA's Rookie Transition Program. K.C. JONES (b. 1932) is a retired American basketball player and coach, playing his entire career with the Boston Celtics. Part of eight championship teams, Jones is 3rd in ranking for championship rings, with only Bill Russell (11) and Sam Jones (10) ahead of him. After retiring from play in 1967, Jones began coaching, working for the Los Angeles Lakers and the Capital Bullets. Pin holes in bottom corner. Top edge notched and frayed from binding. Light surface creases. Lightly toned. Otherwise, fine condition.
