Photograph signed: "Kevin McHale", "Robert/Parish", and "Larry Bird" in blue felt. 8x10. KEVIN McHALE (b.1957) was named in 1995 as the top player in the 100-year history of the University of Minnesota. A first-round draft pick whom Auerbach acquired from Golden State in the Robert Parish deal, he was the third member of the legendary Celtics 3-time championship teams of the 1980s. A 7-time All-Star, he played his entire 13-year NBA career with the Celtics, averaging 17.9 points and 7.1 rebounds per game. Since retiring from play he has led the Minnesota Timberwolves as GM and head coach, and has been a frequent TV analyst. ROBERT PARISH (b. 1953) played his college ball in obscurity, because his Centenary College was under NCAA sanctions which prohibited his impressive stats from even being published. Still, he led the US national team to a gold medal at the Pan American Games (1975). Drafted by the Golden State Warriors, he was acquired by the Celtics in 1980 in one of Red Auerbach's many shrewd trades. Playing for the Celtic championship teams of 1981, 1984 and 1986, and well as for the champion Chicago Bulls in his final year (1997), Parish scored 23,334 points and grabbed 14,715 rebounds over his career, making 54% of his field goals and 72% of his free throws (a very high percentage for a center). As noted here, he is enshrined in the sport's Hall of Fame (2003). LARRY BIRD(1946), forward of the Celtics, was NBA Rookie in 1980, league Most Valuable Player in 1984, 1985 and 1986 and playoff MVP in 1984 and 1986. In the 1987-1988 season, Bird was the first Boston Celtic ever to record a 40-20 game, with a 42-point, 20-rebound effort. He averaged a career-high 29.9 points that year, falling just five points short of reaching 30 per game. After 897 games Bird retired with 21,791 points (24.3 points per game), along with 8,974 rebounds (10 per game.) and 5,695 assists (6.3 per game). Bird, who announced his retirement on August 18, 1992, was NBA Coach of the Year in 1998 (Indiana Pacers). Fine condition.
