Flamboyant, cross-dressing Boy George born George Alan O'Dowd in 1961, was the lead singer (1982-1986) of the British rock group, Culture Club, whose international hits included "Do You Really Want To Hurt Me" (1983) and "Karma Chameleon" (1984). As a solo artist, Boy George remained popular in Britain but was slow to catch on in the United States until he sang the title theme to the surprise hit movie, The Crying Game (1993).
