Autograph note signed: "Brian Avery" in blue ink. 5x3 index
card. March 24, 1985. In full: "To Larry, With kind remembrances of
Carl Smith, "the make-out king" of "The Graduate" Charles". Well known
for his performance as Carl Smith in The Graduate (1967),
Brian Avery (b.1940) has acted in film since the late 1950's. Debuting in
an uncredited role in Mardi Gras (1958), Avery has performed in no
less than 42 screen works, some of his best work including Sleeper
(1973) and The Fortune (1975). His first and only Broadway
performance, A Time for Singing (1966) helped him earn the
majority of his roles throughout the 1970's and 1980's. In his later years,
Avery took on less major roles, with his most recent appearance in Already
Dead (2007) where he played a gunman. Toned. Corners rounded. Slightly
soiled. Otherwise, fine condition.
