BRIAN DONLEVY He signs to confirm details of his appearance on radio's Anacin Hollywood Star Theatre, also signed by NBC Vice President Jack Van Nostrand Document signed: "Brian Donlevy", "Jack Van Nostrand", 2 onionskin pages, 8½x11. Los Angeles, California, 1949 November 28. Donlevy signs acceptance (retroactively) of a confirmation letter from NBC regarding his appearance on the network's Anacin Hollywood Star Theatre radio program on November 26, 1949. For $1,000, Donlevy will introduce Mr. Robert Clarke at the opening of the broadcast and interview him immediately prior to its conclusion. BRIAN DONLEVY (1889-1972) appeared on Broadway and in supporting silent film roles in the 1920s. He received an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor in Beau Geste (1939) and a New York Film Critics Best Actor nomination for Wake Island (1942), the former as a villain, the latter as a hero. He starred in his last film, Pit Stop, in 1969. He produced and starred in a radio/TV series, Dangerous Assignment, in the early 1950s. NBC executive JACK VAN NOSTRAND also directed radio dramas. The Robert Clarke to be interviewed was probably the young actor who later starred in SF B-movies (The Hideous Sun Monster, 1959) and appeared in many TV and radio series. Staple holes at top left corner. Toned and lightly creased. Multiple mailing folds. Otherwise, fine condition. Previously authenticated by PSA/DNA.
