Mullen (b. 1962) is a retired NHL left winger, who played for the
Winnipeg Jets (1982-1987), the New York Rangers (1987-1991), the
San Jose Sharks (1991-1992), and the New York Islanders
(1992-1993). Picked in the seventh round of the 1980 NHL Entry Draft, it
wasn't until two years later that he made his professional debut with the Jets
where over 80 games Mullen scored an impressive 24 points and 26 assists.
He steadily maintained this scoring record for the next 10 seasons. He played
over 800 NHL games with a total of 260 goals and 362 assists. In 1993,
Mullen suffered a small stroke due to a blood clot in his brain and required
open heart surgery; although he planned to make a comeback to the NHL, the
deterioration of his motor skills and a seizure in 1994 forced him to
retire. In his retirement, he has worked in the NHL front office, and as a
radio color analyst for the New York Rangers. Most recently, Mullen is assistant
coach of the New Jersey Rockets of the AJHLL. Toned. Ink note (unknown hand) on
verso. Otherwise, fine condition.
