BRIAN PROPP
The NHL hockey player signs this 7x5 newspaper photograph in blue felt
Newspaper photograph signed: “Brian/Propp” in blue felt. 7x5. Brian Propp (b. 1959) is a retired Canadian-American professional ice hockey left winger who played 15 seasons in the NHL from 1979 until 1994. He played for the Philadelphia Flyers, Boston Bruins, Minnesota North Stars, and Hartford Whalers. After a very successful junior professional career, he was drafted 14th overall by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 1979 NHL Entry Draft, a draft that many hockey experts say was the most productive ever. He scored the game-winning goal in his first career game and went on to score at least 65 points each season in his first ten seasons. Propp took a sabbatical to play for HC Lugano in Switzerland in 1993 before finishing his NHL career with the Hartford Whalers, where he played both his 1000th game and scored his 1000th point. He went to the Stanley Cup Finals five times, without ever winning, and also played in the NHL All-Star game five times. After retiring from the NHL, Propp worked as a broadcaster for the Philadelphia Flyers for nine seasons, until 2008. Lightly toned. Corners rounded and creased. Lightly soiled on verso. Ink note (unknown hand) on verso. Otherwise, fine condition.
