Charles Duke signs a philatelic envelope postmarked the launch day of Apollo 11.
Philatelic Envelope signed: "Charlie Duke", 6½x3½. Launch Cover bearing 6-cent Apollo 8 stamp, postmarked Cape Canaveral, Florida, July 16, 1969, the launch day of Apollo 11, first manned mission to the Moon. Duke was Lunar Module Pilot of Apollo 16 (1972) and walked on the Moon with John Young. On the Moon, Duke and John Young collected 213 pounds of lunar samples, remaining there for 71 hours and two minutes, before returning safely to earth with command module pilot Ken Mattingly on April 27, 1972. Lightly creased at lower left blank corner. Fine condition.
