Program signed: "Charlie Duke", in black felt tip, 4 pages,
8x10½. Apollo 16, Flight to Descartes. An illustrated mission summary of the
Apollo 16 mission. Charles M. Duke, Jr. (b. 1935), a US Navy pilot
selected in the astronaut team of 1969, was the voice of Mission Control during
the first moon landing (Apollo 11). Duke was Lunar Module Pilot of Apollo
16 ( April 1972) and walked on the Moon with John Young. On the
Moon, Duke and John Young collected 213 pounds of lunar samples,
remaining there for 71 hours and two minutes, before returning safely to earth
with command module pilot Ken Mattingly on April 27, 1972. Fine
condition.
