Signature: "Pete Dawkins", in blue ink, 5x3. 1958 Heisman
Trophy winner halfback Pete Dawkins (b. 1938) captained his Army football team
to an undefeated season. He went on to a Rhodes Scholarship to Oxford, a PhD
from Princeton, decorated service in Vietnam and promotion in 1983 as the
youngest Brigadier General (age 45) in U.S. Army history. In 1988,
Dawkins campaigned for a seat in the U.S. Senate from New Jersey, losing by an
8% margin to Democrat Frank Lautenberg. Slightly toned. Corners slightly worn.
