Laserdisc cover signed "Christian Slater" in silver ink and "John
Travolta" in black ink, plus one unidentified signer in blue ink. Color,
12¼x12¼. Disc not included. ©1996 Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation and
Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment. Broken Arrow (1996) starred
Travolta as Vic Deakins, an Air Force pilot attempting to steal a bomber-full of
nuclear bombs, and Slater as Riley Hale, Deakins' co-pilot and the one good guy
in the film relentless enough to stop him. Broken Arrow the second
Hollywood feature film directed by Hong Kong gun opera auteur John Woo and his
first truly big-budget movie in the United States. Stage, screen and television
actor TRAVOLTA, born in Englewood, New Jersey in 1954, received
Academy Award nominations for Saturday Night Fever (1977) and
Pulp Fiction (1994). Travolta, who first found fame as Vinnie
Barbarino in the TV sitcom Welcome Back, Kotter (1975-1977), became a
cultural phenomenon with the release of the films and soundtracks of
Saturday Night Fever and Grease (1978). His Urban
Cowboy (1980) gave as big a boost to country music as Saturday Night
Fever had for disco. Travolta's career seemed in decline in the 1980s, but
big successes in Pulp Fiction, Get Shorty (1995),
Face/Off (1997) and Swordfish (2002) heralded his return as a
major American actor. Travolta is also a licensed pilot and has written several
books. He has been married to actress Kelly Preston since 1991. SLATER,
born Christian Michael Leonard Hawkins in New York City in 1969, earned his
first favorable notice starring opposite Sean Connery in The Name of the
Rose (1986), but did not become a star until he co-starred opposite
Winona Ryder in the darkly satirical Heathers (1989). Slater has
maintained a film career starring as a high school geek with a cool secret
life in Pump Up the Volume (1990), to the romantic Bed of
Roses (1996), to high-voltage actioners like Broken Arrow (1996), as
a suicidal bookkeeper in Julian Po (1997) and in the suspense thriller
Hard Rain (1998). Lightly scuffed and creased. Light impressions from
disc on cover. Light scratches (not visible head-on). Light dent on right side.
Random ink stains on back cover. Rounded corners. Otherwise in fine
condition.
