behind him
Photograph inscribed and signed: "Cat Kidman/regards/Brook Benton".
B/w, 8x10 overall, 7½x9 image. Brook Benton (1931-1988), nicknamed "the
Babbling Brook," scored over 50 hits on the pop and R&B charts between 1958
and 1978, beginning with the 1959 single, "Endlessly." He recorded two hit
duets with Dinah Washington in 1960. After somewhat diminished popularity in the
late 1960s, Benton topped the charts again with "Rainy Night in Georgia"
(1970). He died of spinal meningitis in 1988, but his twelfth album,
Fools Rushed In, came out in 2005. Corners lightly creased. Signature
lightly beaded but legible. Otherwise fine condition.
