BROOKS ROBINSON and FRANK ROBINSON
Extremely rare 8½x11 color photograph showing the Hall of Fame Baltimore Orioles teammates.
Photograph signed: "Brooks/Robinson/HOF 83" and "Frank/Robinson" in silver felt tip, Color 8½x11. These two Hall of Famers played together on the Baltimore Orioles from 1966-1971. During that time Baltimore won two World Series (1966 and 1970). Known as "The Human Vacuum Cleaner," Brooks Robinson established a standard of excellence for modern-day third basemen. He played 23 seasons for the Orioles, setting major league career records for games, putouts, assists, chances, double plays and fielding percentage. A clutch hitter as well, Robinson hit 268 career home runs, at one time an American League record for third basemen. Robinson earned the league's MVP Award in 1964 and the World Series MVP in 1970, when he hit .429 and made a variety of sparkling plays in the field. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1983. National League Rookie of the Year in 1956 and Most Valuable Player in 1961, Frank Robinson was sent by the Cincinnati Reds to the Baltimore Orioles in 1966 in one of the worst trades in baseball history. He was American League Most Valuable Player and Triple Crown winner in 1966, leading the Orioles to an upset sweep of the Dodgers in their first ever World Series. He was selected as the 1966 World Series MVP. The 11-time All-Star became Major League Baseball's first Black manager (with the Cleveland Indians),1975-1977. Elected to the Hall of Fame in 1982, Robinson also managed the San Francisco Giants (1981-1984), Baltimore Orioles (1988-1991) and Montreal Expos (2002-2004), continuing as manager when the team became the Washington Nationals in 2005. With JSA Authentication sticker affixed at bottom right corner. Fine condition.
