BRUCE CRAMPTON - AUTOGRAPHED INSCRIBED PHOTOGRAPH - HFSID 211398
Sale Price $108.00
Color photograph of golfer Bruce Crampton on the course with a white hat on his head and wood under his arm and filling out his scorecard. Signed "With my Best Wishes" in gold ink.
Inscribed photograph signed "To Donald/With my Best Wishes,/Bruce Crampton". Black ink notations on verso in unknown hand. Color, 8x10 overall, 7½x9½ image, one image. Known for his intense work ethic (and possibly apocryphal stories about his bad attitude) on the course, Australian-born American golfer Crampton, born in 1935, turned pro in 1953 and had 42 professional wins, including 14 wins on the PGA Tour and 20 on the Champions Tour. He also won the Vardon trophy, awarded to the PGA Tour player with the lowest stroke average, in 1973 and 1975. Crampton has never won a major championship in the U. S., but has come in second 4 times - once on the Masters, once on the U. S. Open and twice on the PGA Championship; interestingly, all four second-place finishes have been to Jack Nicklaus. Lightly creased, otherwise in fine condition.
