BRUCE CRAMPTON
Full length color photograph of the golfer, signed and inscribed in
gold ink.
Inscribed printed photograph signed: "To Elsa,/With my
best/Wishes,/Bruce Campton". Color, 8x10 overall, 7¼x9 image, one image.
Captioned: "Bruce Crampton 1997". Known for his intense work ethic
(and possibly apocryphal stories about his bad attitude) on the course,
Australian-born American golfer Crampton (b. 1935) turned pro in 1953
and had 42 professional wins, including 14 wins on the PGA Tour and 20 on the
Champions Tour. He also won the Vardon trophy, awarded to the PGA Tour player
with the lowest stroke average, in 1973 and 1975. Crampton has never won
a major championship in the U. S., but has come in second 4 times - once on
the Masters, once on the U. S. Open and twice on the PGA Championship;
interestingly, all four second-place finishes have been to Jack
Nicklaus. Fine condition.
