BRUCE CRAMPTON
Magazine photograph and article detailing his career affixed to a
16x12 mount, signed in blue felt tip.
Photograph signed: "Bruce Crampton", in blue felt tip, B/w
8½x11 affixed to a 16x12 mount. Known for his intense work ethic (and
possibly apocryphal stories about his bad attitude) on the course,
Australian-born American golfer Crampton (b. 1935) turned pro in 1953
and had 42 professional wins, including 14 wins on the PGA Tour and 20 on the
Champions Tour. He also won the Vardon trophy, awarded to the PGA Tour player
with the lowest stroke average, in 1973 and 1975. Crampton has never won
a major championship in the U. S., but has come in second 4 times - once on
the Masters, once on the U. S. Open and twice on the PGA Championship;
interestingly, all four second-place finishes have been to Jack
Nicklaus. Fine condition.
