New Mexico Governor Bruce King responds to a letter regarding his favorite saying
Typed Letter signed: "Bruce King", 1p. 8x11, Santa Fe, New Mexico, 1979 June 20, governor's official letterhead. To: Paul Jriscal, North Canton, Ohio. In Full: "Thank you for your letter requesting my favorite saying. The famous Will Rogers used to say 'I never met a man I didn't like'. In my personal philosophy, I try to implement that saying, and change it a little by saying, 'I never met a person I didn't like'. I try to live this philosophy both in my private and public life. I am enclosing a booklet [not included] about New Mexico which I hope you will enjoy. Sincerely," BRUCE KING (1924-2009) was Governor of New Mexico from 1971-1975, 1979-1983 and 1991-1995. King, a veteran of WWII, had previously served in the New Mexico State House of Representatives (1960-1970), and he was a delegate to the Democratic National Convention in 1980. His son, Gary King, is the Attorney General of New Mexico (2007-). Lightly creased. Otherwise, fine condition.
