The famous astronaut responds to a questionnaire revealing what his favorite food, animal, movie and music was, signed in black ink


Questionnaire signed: "Bruce Peterson" in black ink. 6½x3¾. He has responded to a series of printed questions as follows: [favorite animal] "dog", [favorite food] "steak", [favorite movie] "Gone with the wind", [favorite music or song] "1940s popular songs".  Bruce Peterson (1933-2006) was an American aeronautical engineer and test pilot for NASA. After transferring to flight operations in 1962, he was assigned as one of the project pilots on the Rogallo paraglider research vehicle program. On May 10, 1967, during the sixteenth glide flight of a lifting body Northrop M2-F2, a landing accident severely damaged the vehicle and seriously injured Peterson, and even though he recovered from his injuries, he lost sight in one eye due to a secondary infection while in the hospital. Parts of M2-F2 footage including Peterson’s spectacular crash landing were used for the 1973 TV movie and subsequent series, The Six Million Dollar Man during the opening credits of every episode. Regardless his injuries, he continued to fly NASA support missions, occasional research flights and continued his Marine Reserve flying duties until 1971. He logged more than 6, 000 flight hours in nearly 70 types of aircraft. Bruce Peterson retired in 1981 and then joined the Northrop Corporation, where he was responsible for the safety and quality assurance for testing of the B-2 Advanced Technology Bomber. In 2003 Bruce was inducted into the Lancaster, California Aerospace Walk of Honor. He died three years later. Ink note on verso (unknown hand, no show through). Otherwise, fine condition.
