Autograph letter signed: "Bruno Eisner", in blue ink, 5¾x8¼. October 13, 1972. In full: "Dear Mr. Kronkor I am pleased that you will hold the funeral eulogy for Spiro but -regrettably reduced ! I recommend to omit the passage where at the dinner Mendelssohn sings - perhaps this cut will suffice. With best greetings Your very obedient". Bruno Eisner (1884-1978) was an Austrian pianist. After studying music in Vienna under masters such as Fischhof, Schmitt and Fuchs, Eisner partook in major concert tours throughout Europe before beginning work as an instructor at the Vienna Conservatory. In 1910, he was named a professor at Berlin's Stern Conservatory before emigrating to New York in 1933. He spent the rest of his life teaching in America as a master pianist and professor at schools such as the New York College of Music, Philadelphia Music Academy, and at Colorado State University. Multiple folds. Light surface creases. Ink and pencil notes (unknown hand) on bottom half. Corners slightly worn. Notepad residue on top edge. Lightly soiled. Stray ink marks across. Otherwise, fine condition.
