Two tape remnants at upper margin of verso (no show through). Fine condition. Accompanied by Document bearing the imprinted signature of "Annabelle Wiener" for the World Federation of United Nations Associations, 1p, 8½x11. United Nations, New York City, 1981 September 1. Headed: "Print Documentation". The sheet provides information on the purpose of the lithograph, which was designed for the 1981 Flag Series stamp, which was issued on September 25, 1981, and background on the artist. From the background, in part: "Bruno Zupan, born in Yugoslavia, received his formal art education at the Art Institute in Zagreb, Yugoslavia...In 1964, he came to the United States where he has exhibited extensively, gaining wide recognition as an important American artist. He has been honoured with more than fifty-five one man exhibitions in this country and abroad...His works also have been included in a large number of important national and regional shows...His paintings are in the permanent collections of museums in the United States and Europe...." Slightly creased at upper margin. Fine condition. This was the first WFUNA commission for Bruno Zupan (born in 1919), who received another commission from the organization in 1991. Zupan, who became a U.S. citizen in 1969, is known for his paintings favoring such locations as Mallorca, Venice and Paris, where he lived after leaving his native country and coming to the U.S. Two items.
