BURT KWOUK This handwritten letter is signed by the actor in blue ink Autograph biography signed: "Burt Kwouk", 1 page, 8¼x11½. London, England, Aug. 22, 1984. In Full: "I grew up in Shanghai, China in the 1930's & '40s. I attended Bowdoin College in the State of Maine, graduating with the class of 1953. I then came to London where I have been based ever since. I entered. the entertainment profession here in Britain. In a thirty year career, I have worked in all fields: Theatre, Film, Television, Radio. I guess I am best known as 'Cato' in the Pink Panther films of which I did six altogether - four with Pete Sellers and two after he died. There is a view that 'Cato' will be with me for the rest of my days. I don't mind that. I quite like him and we. get on pretty good together. Since the Panther days, I have been working largely on television here in Britain. I shall go on being based in London as I like it here and I have the opportunity to work with a great many international actors. I find the cross-fertilization both useful and interesting. Best regards". Audiences probably best know Burt Kwouk (1930-2016) as Inspector Clouseau's manservant and frequent sparring partner Cato Fong in seven Pink Panther films between 1964 and 1993, beginning with A Shot in the Dark (1964). Kwouk appeared in over 140 film and television productions, including appearances in three James Bond films: Goldfinger (1964), You Only Live Twice (1967), and Casino Royale (1967). Doctor Who fans may also recognize Kwouk as Lin Futu from the 1982 story arc Four to Doomsday. Lightly toned and creased. Folded twice and unfolded. Otherwise, fine condition.
