Actor/writer/artist BurtYoung (born Jerry De Louise in 1940) was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Sylvester Stallone's brother-in-law, Paulie, in Rocky (1976), a character he reprised in all the Rocky sequels. Young, who had made his film debut in The Gang That Couldn't Shoot Straight (1971), was usually cast as a thug or villain. His film credits number exceed 60 and include Chinatown (1974), The Choir Boys (1977), Convoy (1978), Betsy's Wedding (1990) and The Adventures of Pluto Nash (2002). Young has also appeared in a number of made for television movies and series, including Baretta (1975, 1976) and Columbo (1994) bringing his overall credits to well over 100. Additionally, Young is an accomplished artist whose paintings have been exhibited in galleries from Hawaii to New York. An author/writer he has written 2 stage plays and 3 TV episodes.
