BUSTER MILLS
Signed 3½x5½ postcard photo of the ball player in his Brooklyn Dodgers uniform,
standing in the dugout
Photograph signed: "Bus Mills". B/w, 3½x5½. Colonel Buster "Bus" Mills (1908-1991)
played left field for six Major League teams in seven years, interrupted by military service
in World War II. Colonel was his first name, however, not his rank. Mills broke in with the
St. Louis Cardinals in 1934 and played his last game for the Cleveland Indians in 1946.
He was a Brooklyn Dodger in 1935 and had his best season with the Boston Red Sox in
1937, batting .295 and slugging .418 in 123 games. After leaving the field, he coached for
several teams, and was a Yankee scout for many years. Ink note (unknown hand) on verso.
Otherwise, fine condition.
