American golfer Byron Nelson (1912-2006) was called a "mechanical" golfer because his play was so consistent. Nelson, who won the Masters in 1937 and 1942, the U.S. Open in 1939 and the PGA Championship in 1940 and 1945, won a record 11 consecutive golf tournaments in 1945. He was elected to the PGA Hall of Fame in 1953 and the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1974. Slight haloing of signature. Lengthy printed biography on verso shows through slightly at top margin. Faint ½-inch smudge at center of right margin. Fine condition.
