Early, signed black and white picture postcard of Cab Calloway in a tuxedo
and top hat.
Picture postcard signed: "Cab/Calloway". B/w, 3½x5½. Famed Cotton
Club orchestra leader Cab Calloway (1907-1994), one of the premier
entertainers in jazz, is best known for his renditions of "Minnie the
Moocher" and "St. James Infirmary Blues" and for his "Hi di Ho" delivery.
Calloway also displayed his talents in several films, including The Big
Broadcast (1932), The Singing Kid (1936), Manhattan
Merry-Go-Round (1937) and 1943's Stormy Weather, which also starred
Bill "Bojangles" Robinson, Lena Horne and Dooley Wilson. Lightly creased at
blank margins and corners. Advertisement stamped on verso (no show through).
