Partly Printed Check signed: "Cal Hubbard," in pencil, 6x2¾.

Payable to A & P in the amount of $28.40. Pale green in color. (Robert)
Cal Hubbard (1900-1977). From the Baseball Hall of Fame: "Cal Hubbard
was an efficient and authoritative umpire who was respected for his imposing
size, keen ability and unusual 20-10 vision. After eight years in the minors, he
reached the American League in 1936. He excelled for 15 seasons in the big
leagues before a hunting accident led to his premature retirement. Hubbard, who
played on three NFL Championship teams, was the first person elected to three
national sports shrines, having previously been honored by the college and
professional football halls of fame." Hubbard's
NFL career (1927-1936) was spent as a tackle with the New York Giants and the
Green Bay Packers. Tiny cancellation holes nick the signature. Otherwise,
fine condition.
