moon
Book signed: "Alan Bean/Apollo 12"¸in gold ink, 16 pages, 8x10½. A Mission Report of the
Apollo 12 mission, detailing the mission with illustrated pictures and photographs. US
astronaut Bean (1932-2018) was selected by NASA (as part of the third group of
astronauts) in 1963. The Lunar Module Pilot on Apollo 12 in November 1969, Bean was
the fourth man to walk on the Moon. From July 29-September 25, 1973, Bean was
Spacecraft Commander of Skylab 3, the second manned mission to link up with Skylab.
Bean, who retired from the U.S. Navy in October 1975, resigned from NASA in June 1981
to devote time to painting. His paintings of the moon and space, which hang on the walls of
many space enthusiasts, include a small patch from his astronaut's suit, which picked up bits of
moon dust. Light wear on corners and edges. Light toning. Otherwise, fine condition.
