The Skylab II mission, launched on July 28, 1973, splashed down on September 25, 1973,
making 858 orbits in 1,427 hours, nine minutes and four seconds. The crew more than
doubled the endurance record set by Skylab I just a month earlier. Aboard the Skylab space
station (put into orbit May 14, 1973), the three astronauts conducted a number of
experiments, including studying the webs of live spiders and testing the Astronaut
Maneuvering Unit (AMU), which had first been carried into space aboard Gemini 9. Four
years before this mission, ALAN BEAN(1932-2018) walked on the Moon. Fine condition.
