Headed: "[NASA logo] Biography/National Aeronautics and Space Administration/Manned Spacecraft Center, Houston, Texas". Dated: "November 1963". Typed biography of "ALAN L. BEAN/NASA MANNED SPACECRAFT CENTER ASTRONAUT". Five paragraph biography that includes Bean's birth place and date ("Wheeler, Texas, March 15, 1932"), his education (high school diploma and "bachelor of science degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Texas"), vital statistics (height, weight, family information) and flight experience (more than 2,000 hours of flying time, including more than 1,800 hours in jet aircraft). Bean (1932-2018) was selected by NASA (as part of the third group of astronauts) in 1963. The Lunar Module Pilot on Apollo 12 in November 1969, Bean was the fourth man to walk on the Moon. From July 29-September 25, 1973, Bean was Spacecraft Commander of Skylab 3, the second manned mission to link up with Skylab. Bean, who retired from the U.S. Navy in October 1975, resigned from NASA in June 1981 to devote time to painting. Lightly creased with folds, not at signature.
