Typed Letter Signed: "Alan L. Bean", "Owen K. Garriott"and"Jack R. Lousma", 1p, 8x10½. NASA, Johnson Space Center, Houston, Texas, 1973 November 6. To Mrs. Mary Helfen, Bound Brook, New Jersey. In full: "Thank you for your message of congratulations which awaited our return from our Skylab Mission. We are indeed grateful for your continued interest in the accomplishments of our many space flights and we especially appreciate your interest in this, the second of our Skylab missions. Our stay of 59 days produced much data about our world and the universe in which we live and much of this material will be given to the public in the future. We believe that this information will be helpful and beneficial to the peoples of all nations. Thank you, again, for your thoughtfulness in writing to us." Basically a form content letter, but authentically signed by ALAN L. BEAN (1932-2018), OWEN K. GARRIOTT and JACK R. LOUSMA. The Skylab 3 mission performed systems and operational tests and thermal shield deployment (July 28-September 25, 1973). Bean had walked on the Moon (Apollo 12, November 14-24, 1969.) Lightly creased. Fine condition.
