Accompanied by a 4x4 color photo of the official NASA emblem for the Apollo XII mission inscribed: "To Stan/Thanks for all/your help/Good Luck" in Bean's hand. After CHARLES CONRAD and ALAN BEAN made the second lunar landing on November 18th, they located the unmanned Surveyor 3 probe, which had landed in a crater in April 1967. They had descended to the Moon's Ocean of Storms in the Intrepid lunar module, collecting 74.7 pounds of samples during their 31 hour and 31 minute stay. DICK GORDON orbited overhead in the Yankee Clipper command module. Conrad was killed July 8, 1999 in a motorcycle accident. STAN JACOBSEN was the Assistant Chief of the Publications Branch at NASA's Manned Space Center in Houston. His staff designed the space mission insignia. Fine condition. Two items.
