Sale Price $450.00
WALTER M. SCHIRRA. Partly Printed DS: "W M Schirra", 1p, 8½x11. [Los Angeles], 1984 September 20. Form signed by Schirra prior to his appearance on Michael Jackson's radio show in Los Angeles. A KABC staffer has penned a summary of his 50-minute morning interview. In part: "Schirra said the fun airplane to fly is the F20. Flying an aircraft in space is entirely different than flying during a war-People want to destroy you in war and in space people want to support. A shuttle flight cost of $5 million so he doesn't see a passenger flight in the near future". Walter M. "Wally" Schirra (1923-2007) is the only astronaut to fly in the Mercury (Sigma 7, 1962), Gemini (Gemini 6, 1965) and Apollo (Apollo 7, 1968) programs. Lightly creased and slightly soiled. File holes at blank left margin.
