"Wally" Schirra (1923-2007), one of the original seven Project Mercury astronauts, was the fifth American in space (Sigma 7, October 3, 1962, six orbits in nine hours and 13 minutes). On December 15-16, 1965, aboard Gemini 6A, he and Thomas Stafford completed 15 orbits and successfully rendezvoused with Gemini 7. Schirra was also the Commander of the first manned Apollo 7 mission, October 11-22, 1968, making him the only astronaut to participate in all three space programs. Schirra is a member of the National Aviation Hall of Fame. Fine condition.
