In 1970, Ballantine appeared in an episode of The Debbie Reynolds Show. Actor and magician Ballantine (1917-2009), who is best known for his role as Torpedoman Lester Gruber in the TV series, McHale's Navy(1962-1966), and the 1964 film of the same name, was an inspiring magician whose tricks roused only laughter from audiences. Capitalizing on his ineptitude, he showed up as "The Great Ballantine" on such shows as The Ed Sullivan Show and The Steve Allen Show. Ballantine has also appeared in such feature films as The Shakiest Gun in the West (1968), The World's Greatest Lover (1977) and Mr. Saturday Night (1992), and he has made a number of made-for-TV movies. Ballantine, who is sometimes billed as Carl Ballentine, has also guest starred on several TV shows. Lightly creased. Normal bank stamps and cancellation holes, which touch signature.
