Signature: "Carl Hubbell" in black ink, 5x3. Carl Hubbell (1903-1988), a master of the
difficult screwball pitch, was a 20-game winner five seasons in a row for the New York
Giants (1933-1937). He was the only peacetime pitcher to win the Most Valuable Player
Award twice (1933, 1936). Hubbell's most famous feat was striking out six, including five
future Hall of Famers (Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Jimmie Foxx, Al Simmons, and Joe Cronin),
in three scoreless innings of the 1934 All-Star Game. He was inducted into the National
Baseball Hall of Fame in 1947. Fine condition.
