Baseball signed: "Carl Hubbell". Official Rawlings National League baseball. Hubbell, master of the difficult screwball pitch, was a 20-game winner five seasons in a row for the New York Giants (1933-1937) and was the only peacetime pitcher to win the Most Valuable Player Award twice (1933, 1936). He entered the Hall of Fame in 1947. His most famous feat was striking out six, including five future Hall of Famers (Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Jimmie Foxx, Al Simmons and Joe Cronin), in three scoreless innings of the 1934 All-Star Game. There is also an original color drawing of his face on the ball (by artist, Pekid). Fine condition. Presented in Gallery of History pedestal style: base, 6½x6½x2; ball in 3x3x3-inch cases.
