CARL REYNOLDS
The outfielder signs a card for collector Elsie Myrus, wife and assistant to Myrus the mentalist
Printed Card signed in ink: "Carl Reynolds", 4x5. Printed "Ask Myrus" card from a performance of Myrus the Wizard of Mental Telepathy at the Park Plaza Hotel, New York City. CARL REYNOLDS (1903-1978) played for 5 Major League clubs (White Sox, Senators, Browns, Red Sox and Cubs) between 1927 and 1939. He could play all three outfield positions, but his strong arm made him a natural right fielder. Reynolds had a career .302 batting average, hitting over .300 six times, and batting .359 in the offense-oriented 1930 season. That year he hit home runs in three consecutive at bats for the White Sox against the Yankees. Harry Carp, who employed the stage name of Myrus, was a renowned "mentalist" with a remarkable gift for answering questions posed by members of the audience. His wife, Melba Merriam, who went by Elsie Myrus when acting as his assistant, collected autographs from celebrities attending his performances. This autograph was part of her collection. Corners lightly worn. Edges toned. Fine condition.
