Printed Card Signed in Ink: "Carl Long", in black ink, 5x3. Carl Long (1935-2015), nicknamed "The Kid", played in professional baseball for several years in several different leagues, but received most recognition in the Carolina League. Long was the first African American to play for Carolina's Kinston Eagles; he also held many other firsts in the town of Kinston, being the first African American bus driver, deputy sheriff, and detective. Corners slightly worn. Fine condition.
