CARMEL MYERS and HENNY YOUNGMAN Both sign a guest roster for cabaret singer Hildegarde. Myers, signing with her married name, adds an autograph note. Autograph Note signed: "Carmel Myers Schwalberg - "Hildie is back and better than ever!'", 9¾x3¾ piece of album leaf. Also signed on verso: "Henny Youngman"CARMEL MYERS (1899-1980, born in San Francisco, California) was an American actress with over 90 TV shows and movies to her credit, with most of these before 1934. Myers was once one of Hollywood's most enticing and alluring vamps, especially as Iras in Ben-Hur (1926), and starred opposite Douglas Fairbanks and Rudolph Valentino. She made the transition to talkies with character roles and even to television with a 15-minute interview show, The Carmel Myers Show (1951). She was married to Alfred Schwalberg, her third husband, from 1951 until his death in 1974. HENNY YOUNGMAN (1906-1998, born Henry Youngman in Liverpool, England), a comedian who specialized in rapid-fire jokes, was known as "The King of One-Liners". Over his seven-decade career, he moved with ease from vaudeville to radio to TV variety shows to occasional movie roles. In 1976, the year before he signed this document, Youngman appeared in Silent Movie and Won Ton Ton, the Dog Who Saved Hollywood. This sheet was signed by others, including "Alfred M. Herrop" , "Ellen & Al Miller", and 3 illegible signatures. Irregular right edge from removal from bound book. Light bleed-through of signatures on verso. Cut irregularly. Otherwise, fine condition.
