CAROL BURNETT. TLS: "Carol Burnett", 1p, 7¼x10½. (New York), 1965 March 8. To Cuartor Wynne, Brooklyn, N.Y. In part: "I began to act in college shows, came to New York afterwards and was seen by my manager in a show put on by the girls of the Rehearsal Club, where I lived. My advice to teen-agers who would like to enter show-business is to get all the formal education possible first, gaining experience in school and/or community shows...." After being a regular on The Garry Moore Show (1959-1962), Burnett appeared in several specials and starred in her own variety series, The Carol Burnett Show, from 1967-1978. At the time of this letter, she was starring on Broadway in the musical comedy Fade Out - Fade In (May 26, 1964 - April 17, 1965). Nominated for 20 Emmy Awards, Burnett has won six times. Slightly creased. Pinhead-size stains touch 3 words of text. Fine condition.
