Autograph Note signed: "Dear George,/It was a pleasure./Thanx/Carol Haney", 7¾x3½ with 1x2 photo and 2½x1¼ newspaper bio affixed to left edge. Dancer and stage actress Carol Haney (1924-1964) was hired by Gene Kelly in 1949 as his assistant choreographer; she worked with him on several of his masterpieces, including On the Town, An American in Paris and Singin' in the Rain. She danced with Bob Fosse in Kiss Me Kate, so impressing Fosse that he recommended her for casting in The Pajama Game. That part earned her a Tony as Best Featured Actress in a Musical (1954), and she reprised the role in the 1957 film. Haney received three more Tony nominations for her choreography on Flower Drum Song, Bravo Giovanni and Funny Girl, but she died early in Funny Girl's Broadway run. Paper and adhesive residue on verso, showing through at signature. Creased and toned. Left edge ragged from previous binding.
