Photograph signed: "Cazzie/ Russell" in blue ink, color, 4x6. Cazzie Russell (b. 1944), born Cazzie Lee Russell, Jr., was a basketball player who led the University of Michigan's Wolverines to three consecutive Big Ten Conference titles (1964-1966) and two Final Four appearances (1964-1965). He received 1965-1966 NCAA Player of the Year honors and was named to the NCAA's All-America team three times before going on to play professional ball from 1966 to 1978, including five seasons with the Knicks. Russell was named to the 1966-1967 NBA All-Rookie Team and was an All-Star with the Golden State Warriors during the 1971-1972 season. He was also part of the Knicks' 1969-1970 championship roster. He retired from pro ball after 1978, but returned in 1981 to coach the Continental Basketball Association's Lancaster (Pennsylvania) Lightning to a league championship.
