CÉCILE SOREL, COUNTESS OF SEGUR
The colorful French actress signs with the sentiment, "Vive Buenos Aires".
Autograph Sentiment signed: "Vive Buenos Aires/Cécile Sorel/5 Oct. 1930", 6x8 album leaf. French actress Cécile Sorel (1873-1966) joined the Comédie-Française in 1903, quickly acquiring a large popular following. Renowned for her stylish costumes and celebrity status, Sorel was also known for her histrionic performances, considered a fault today but very common in her own time. She was briefly married to the much older Count of Segur, continuing to use the title all her life. She made two short silent films, and then returned to the screen in supporting roles for three French-language films three decades later. Frayed on left edge. Corners lightly worn. Heavily toned. Stray ink mark on right margin. Light surface creases. Otherwise, fine condition.
