Autograph Note signed: "Charles B. Driscoll", 1 page, 5½x3¼ postcard. New York, N.Y., postmarked January 6, 1939. On note card bearing the name of his newspaper column, New York by Day. Addressed in his own hand to Connie R. Manning, Washington, D.C. In full: "Thanks for your outstanding letter, which I've only now got a chance to read. Happy 1939!" Charles B. Driscoll (1885-1951) was a prolific author and radio commentator, originally from Wichita and later moving to New York City. He wrote several books about pirates, including Doubloons: the Story of Buried Treasure (1930); as well as a family memoir, Kansas Irish (1942). Heavy mounting residue on verso. Ink stamps. Lightly toned. Otherwise, fine condition.
